Overview

  • Nightdive’s surprise QuakeCon drop on August 7 made the remastered Heretic and Hexen instantly available on PC, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox.
  • The update adds high-frame-rate support up to 120 fps on PC and widescreen functionality, while the Switch version remains capped at 60 fps.
  • Optional quality-of-life tweaks include rebalanced enemies, improved map markers and in-game class switching that can be toggled off for purists.
  • Cross-platform multiplayer is enabled but suffers occasional jitter and teleporting issues under unstable connections.
  • Digital owners of the original games receive free upgrades and Limited Run Games will release forthcoming physical editions featuring archival Raven Vault material.
