Overview
- The lightweight bout is confirmed as the co-headliner at UFC Vegas 122 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas and will be available on Paramount+.
- Jai Herbert is a 38-year-old veteran with a 14-6-1 record who said his experience and all-around skills give him the edge after a first-round knockout over Manel Nallo in April.
- Matheus Camilo is an 11-3 fighter riding a two-fight win streak whose June knockout of Nazim Sadykhov was his first UFC finish and who told media he intends to stop Herbert early.
- Both fighters used media day to stress finishing intent, with Herbert saying he is prepared for three rounds but will look for a finish and Camilo calling his June KO a small preview of more aggressive work.
- A win would change momentum for both men: Herbert would chase his first consecutive UFC victories and Camilo would cement his reputation as a rising finisher in the lightweight division.
