- Herbert Hainer announced on July 21 that he will stand for a third three-year term as president of FC Bayern München.
- He will submit his candidacy at the Supervisory Board meeting on September 5 in accordance with club statutes.

- Vice-presidents Dieter Mayer and Walter Mennekes will also seek re-election alongside Hainer in what is widely regarded as a procedural vote.
