  • Ruggs was granted special release to speak at a Hope for Prisoners event in Las Vegas, where he offered a public apology to Tina Tintor’s family.
  • He expressed regret, saying he wished he could “turn back the hands of time” and lamented that his notoriety continually reminded the family of the tragedy.
  • Authorities found that Ruggs was driving up to 156 mph with a blood-alcohol level twice Nevada’s legal limit when he rear-ended Tintor’s vehicle in November 2021, killing her and her dog.
  • In May 2023, he pleaded guilty to felony DUI causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter and received a three-to-ten-year prison sentence in August 2023.
