Henry Nowak Killing: Man, 22, Charged With Murder as Woman Charged With Assisting

Detectives will present the case at Southampton Magistrates’ Court next.

  • Hampshire’s Major Crime Team charged Vickrum Digwa, 22, with murder and possession of a bladed article over the death of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak in Portswood on December 3.
  • Kiran Kaur, 52, has been charged with assisting an offender, and both defendants are due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
  • Police say Nowak suffered a puncture wound to his chest and two wounds to the back of his leg after an altercation on Belmont Road and was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • A 51-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail, while a 26-year-old was released with no further action for murder but bailed on assisting an offender and a public order offence.
  • Investigators are seeking CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from Portswood and St Denys between 10pm and 2am and have increased local patrols as family and the university paid tribute.
