Overview

  • The 2.34 km four-lane corridor connects Siramtoli Chowk to Mecon Roundabout in Ranchi and was opened on June 5 by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
  • Jharkhand Road Construction Department oversaw the project, which was launched with its foundation stone laid in August 2022.
  • A 132-metre cable-stayed span over railway tracks distinguishes the structure as the state’s first flyover of this design.
  • Commuters can expect travel times along the busy route to fall from 20–30 minutes to just 3–4 minutes while traffic volume could drop by up to 40%.
  • The inauguration followed a statewide bandh called by tribal organisations protesting a ramp near Sarna Sthal, a site sacred to Indigenous communities.
