HelloFresh Under Federal Investigation Over Alleged Child Labor Violations

The Labor Department is probing reports of migrant teenagers working night shifts at an Illinois facility linked to the meal kit company.

The U.S. Department of Labor has launched an investigation into alleged child labor violations at a HelloFresh facility in Aurora, Illinois.
Reports indicate at least six migrant teenagers, some from Guatemala, were employed on night shifts at the facility, according to advocacy group Immigrant Solidarity DuPage.
The investigation also includes Midway Staffing, the agency accused of hiring the underage workers, which denies knowingly employing minors under 18.
HelloFresh stated it has terminated its relationship with Midway Staffing and emphasized its zero-tolerance policy for child labor violations.
The case is part of a broader national trend, with federal authorities reporting a sharp increase in child labor violations across the U.S. in recent years.
