• On July 31, officials unveiled the largely completed reveal of Gómez’s 1950 prison cell murals to mark the 1749 Gran Redada commemoration.
• Mechanical and chemical cleaning by the CRBMC since December 2024 under Mireia Mestre exposed a vaulted ceiling with a central Eucharistic host motif and silver-paper stars.
• Restoration crews will next stabilize the frescoes and continue uncovering lower walls into late 2025 before converting the cell into a heritage site.
