Helio Castroneves to Attempt NASCAR Debut in Daytona 500 with Trackhouse Racing

The four-time Indy 500 winner will drive the No. 91 car under Trackhouse’s Project 91 initiative, aiming to qualify for NASCAR’s most prestigious race.

Helio Castroneves, a 49-year-old IndyCar legend and four-time Indianapolis 500 winner, is set to attempt his NASCAR debut at the 2025 Daytona 500.
Castroneves will drive the No. 91 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing as part of its Project 91 program, which brings international motorsport stars into NASCAR competition.
To secure a spot in the 40-car field, Castroneves must qualify either via a fast time trial or a strong performance in the BlueGreen Vacations Duels qualifying races.
The No. 91 car will be sponsored by Wendy’s and led by veteran crew chief Darian Grubb, who previously won a NASCAR Cup Series championship with Tony Stewart.
Trackhouse Racing’s Project 91 has previously featured renowned drivers like Kimi Räikkönen and Shane van Gisbergen, with the latter winning his NASCAR debut in 2023.
