Overview
- The vehicle’s owner called dispatch around 9:15 p.m. Saturday reporting its location on the Southfield Freeway Service Drive near McNichols Road.
- Michigan State Police said Trooper 2 located the car from the air after ground troopers attempted a traffic stop and did not pursue.
- The teens fled at Fenmore Street near 7 Mile Road, with the passenger detained on scene and the driver found in a nearby neighborhood tracked from above.
- Both 15-year-olds were taken to the MSP Second District Headquarters and their parents were contacted.
- MSP said the car will be returned to its owner, and MLive reported a petition will be submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Juvenile Division for review.
