Heisman Winner Jayden Daniels to Skip Bowl Game, Prepares for NFL Draft

LSU's star quarterback, ranked third-best prospect by ESPN, opts out of Wisconsin match to focus on professional career

Heisman Trophy-winning LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has announced he will skip the Tigers' upcoming bowl game against Wisconsin to prepare for the NFL Draft.
Daniels, who transferred to LSU from Arizona State, led the nation in total offense this season, passing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns, and rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He is the second LSU quarterback in the past five seasons to win the Heisman, following Joe Burrow in 2019.
Daniels is ranked as the third-best quarterback prospect by ESPN NFL draft Insider Mel Kiper Jr. and is the No. 4 overall pick on his Big Board.
Garrett Nussmeier, who served as Daniels' backup and saw action in five games this season, is expected to start against Wisconsin in the bowl game.
