Heir to Pie Fortune Found Guilty of Best Friend’s Christmas Eve Murder

Dylan Thomas, grandson of Peter’s Pies founder, convicted of stabbing William Bush 37 times in a premeditated attack in Cardiff.

Dylan Thomas, 24, was convicted of murdering his best friend William Bush, 23, at their shared home in Cardiff on December 24, 2023, after ambushing him with two knives.
Thomas, diagnosed with schizophrenia after the attack, claimed diminished responsibility but was found guilty of murder by a jury at Cardiff Crown Court after a nine-day trial.
Evidence presented showed Thomas researched neck anatomy and had previously confessed to Bush that he had thought about killing him, prompting Bush to barricade his door at night.
Thomas was arrested months before the attack for breaking into Buckingham Palace, reportedly searching for 'energy fields,' and had been exhibiting signs of psychosis leading up to the murder.
William Bush’s family described the killing as 'beyond devastating,' while Thomas will remain in custody at Ashworth High Secure Hospital until his sentencing on December 16.
