Overview
- On July 31, Heinrich Abelmann GmbH updated its recall via lebensmittelwarnung.de to cover dozens of fish specialty products after additional Listeria monocytogenes detections in multiple batches.
- The expanded recall includes Kräuterfilets nach Matjesart, Bratheringshappen, Hering in Gelee mit Ei and various Räuchermatjesfilets sold under Abelmann, Ostfriesische Räucherei Janssen, Heimatliebe and Skansild brands.
- Recalled items were distributed across Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bremen, triggering a broad consumer alert.
- Consumers are urged to return any affected products for a full refund via the lebensmittelwarnung.de portal or by emailing [email protected].
- Health authorities warn that Listeria infection can cause fever, diarrhea and life-threatening complications for pregnant women, seniors and immunocompromised individuals who should seek medical advice even without symptoms.
