Heinrich Abelmann GmbH Expands Listeria-Linked Fish Recall

Dozens of fish specialties sold under multiple brands in seven states are being recalled over Listeria contamination with refunds offered through the official food warning portal.

Overview

  • On July 31, Heinrich Abelmann GmbH updated its recall via lebensmittelwarnung.de to cover dozens of fish specialty products after additional Listeria monocytogenes detections in multiple batches.
  • The expanded recall includes Kräuterfilets nach Matjesart, Bratheringshappen, Hering in Gelee mit Ei and various Räuchermatjesfilets sold under Abelmann, Ostfriesische Räucherei Janssen, Heimatliebe and Skansild brands.
  • Recalled items were distributed across Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bremen, triggering a broad consumer alert.
  • Consumers are urged to return any affected products for a full refund via the lebensmittelwarnung.de portal or by emailing [email protected].
  • Health authorities warn that Listeria infection can cause fever, diarrhea and life-threatening complications for pregnant women, seniors and immunocompromised individuals who should seek medical advice even without symptoms.
