Heather Keeler Launches Bid for Congress in Minnesota’s 7th District

Keeler, 43, a DFL representative from Moorhead and co-chair of the Minnesota House Human Services Finance and Policy Committee, announced her run on social media. She cites the Pathway Home Act on homelessness, expanded SNAP access, emergency funding for food shelves, and leadership of a statewide school attendance task force. Her launch message urges a move from political division to care and compassion and emphasizes lived experience in serving greater Minnesota. MPR News reports the Democratic field now includes marketing business owner Erik Osberg and educator Jared Adams. Republican Rep. Michelle Fischbach, who won the seat in 2020 after defeating Colin Peterson, represents a large western Minnesota district stretching from the Canadian border nearly to Iowa.
