- Argentina’s meteorological service kept an orange alert for extreme heat in Buenos Aires City, with forecast highs near 37–39°C, very warm nights, isolated afternoon–evening storms on Dec. 31 and partial relief from a frontal passage on Jan. 1.
- Yellow alerts were issued for storms in parts of Jujuy, Misiones, east San Juan, northwest San Luis and northeast Mendoza, with separate wind alerts for southern Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego.
- Local forecasts in provinces such as Mendoza, Santa Fe and Córdoba call for hot, humid conditions and isolated thunderstorms that could affect outdoor gatherings on New Year’s Eve.
- Peru’s Senamhi maintained Meteorological Notice No. 466 through Dec. 31 for extreme heat in Lima and 11 regions, citing stronger daytime temperatures, elevated UV radiation, winds and possible precipitation.
- Mexico’s weather service reported Cold Front No. 25 over the Yucatán Peninsula, bringing heavy to torrential rains in Oaxaca, Veracruz and Tabasco, strong rains in Campeche and Quintana Roo, colder conditions in several regions and possible snow or sleet on high peaks.
