Health Ministry Opens Four CDMX Sites to Boost Mexico’s Winter Vaccination Drive

The push focuses on protecting vulnerable groups with free influenza, pneumococcal and updated mRNA COVID-19 shots as authorities target broad national coverage by late December.

Overview

  • New SSA modules in Tacuba, Polanco, Escandón and Lomas de Plateros operate Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 15:00 with no prior registration and free vaccination.
  • Sites offer influenza, pneumococcal and COVID-19 vaccines, including Moderna’s Spikevax and Pfizer/BioNTech’s Comirnaty in the LP.8.1 monovalent mRNA formulation.
  • Priority groups include children under five, adults 60 and older, pregnant people except for pneumococcal, health workers, and those with chronic conditions.
  • Monterrey will run a one-day municipal drive on October 25 at Arena Monterrey (drive‑thru and walk‑up) providing winter vaccines and catch‑up doses for pending schedules.
  • The national campaign aims to deliver about 35.4 million influenza, 10.9 million COVID-19 and 4.2 million pneumococcal doses through April 3, 2026, with a goal of at least 70% coverage by December 26, 2025.
