Overview
- HCLTech, which opened the lab on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, invested Rs 185 crore to build a 40,000-square-foot post‑silicon engineering facility that includes 25,000 square feet of specialised cleanrooms.
- The Bengaluru facility is fitted with test and measurement kit from vendors such as Teradyne, Advantest, Keysight, Tektronix and Thermo Fisher and includes automated test equipment, probes, qualification chambers, optical and electron microscopes, and a focused ion beam system for failure analysis.
- HCLTech says the lab will perform electrical validation, automated testing, qualification and failure analysis on a single platform under its Spec2Parts model, supporting research and development, pre‑production runs and production qualification to reduce turnaround time for chip makers.
- The company plans to pursue global accreditations including ISO 17025, ISO 9001, AS 9100 for aerospace and ISO 13485 for medical use, signalling an intent to serve regulated sectors and overseas customers.
- The opening plugs a domestic testing and qualification gap at a time of stronger policy support for chips in India, builds on HCLTech’s two decades of semiconductor investment and could speed time to market, create skilled local jobs and make India more attractive for fabrication and packaging investment.
