HBO Developing ‘The Fort Bragg Cartel’ for Television

  • HBO secured rights in a competitive bid to adapt Seth Harp’s nonfiction investigation The Fort Bragg Cartel: Drug Trafficking and Murder in the Special Forces.
  • Seth Harp and veteran producer Len Amato will executive produce the project via Amato’s company Crash&Salvage.
  • The book debuts on The New York Times bestseller lists on Aug. 31 at No. 2 for combined print and eBook and No. 5 for hardcover.
  • Harp’s reporting begins with a 2020 double homicide near Fort Bragg and details alleged drug smuggling by veterans, cartel entanglements, corrupt police, and military cover-ups.
  • Published by Viking on Aug. 12, the book draws on work previously excerpted in Rolling Stone, and Harp is represented by CAA.
