HBO Confirms "House of the Dragon" Season 2 for Summer 2024, Delays Other Shows to 2025

HBO and Max confirm 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 for summer 2024, despite Hollywood strikes delaying many other shows. The reporting season is expected to contain only eight episodes, two less than in the first season.
The British union, Equity, allowed the show to continue filming during the actors and writers strikes, as most of its actors are U.K.-based.
Numerous anticipated shows including 'The White Lotus', 'The Last of Us', and 'Euphoria' have been pushed back to 2025 due to delays related to the strikes affecting writers and actors.
Production for 'The Last of Us' season 2 is set to begin in spring 2024, assuming the actors strike ends before that date. The creators had previously mapped out the entire story for the season.
New seasons of 'Industry' and 'Tokyo Vice' are slated for spring release, 'The White Lotus' season 3 and 'It' prequel 'Welcome to Derry' won't premiere until 2025. HBO's Dunk and Egg spinoff hopes to start filming in spring 2024, but no release date is yet provided.
