Overview

• Officers responded around 7 p.m. Sunday to the 26000 block of Gading Road following reports of gunfire in a residential area.
• First responders found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds and transported all of them to local hospitals.
• One of the victims was later pronounced dead at the hospital and two others are still receiving treatment for their injuries.
• Hayward police say one of the wounded parties is believed to be responsible for the shooting.
• Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene but have not released victim names or a motive as the probe continues.
