Actress Hayden Panettiere has opened up about her time on the TV show 'Nashville', stating that the experience was 'traumatizing' as the writers drew on her real-life experiences with alcoholism for storylines.
Panettiere claims that the show's writers were not creating new storylines but were looking at her life and putting their spin on it, which had a detrimental effect on her well-being.
The actress, who has previously been open about her struggles with addiction, said the long shooting days and the strain of her character dealing with the same struggles she was facing off set left her with no time to take care of herself.
Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a rising country music singer who struggles with personal and professional life, on 'Nashville' from 2012 to 2018.
Despite the emotional toll, Panettiere has persevered and got sober in 2021, and is now preparing to kick off a speaking engagement tour.
