Overview
- Hauser & Wirth confirmed on July 30 that its first Bay Area outpost will occupy 201–225 Hamilton Avenue in downtown Palo Alto.
- The gallery will open in spring 2026 in a former early 1900s post office located a short walk from Stanford University.
- Architect Luis Laplace will lead the renovation, adapting the heritage building into a contemporary exhibition space with a bookstore.
- This will be the gallery’s first Northern California venue and its third California location, after its Downtown Los Angeles and West Hollywood spaces.
- It marks the return of a mega-gallery to the Bay Area following Pace’s Palo Alto closure in 2022 and Gagosian’s San Francisco exit in 2020.
