Haryana Signs MoU With Honda for C&D Waste-to-Tiles Plant in Manesar

The pact highlights Haryana’s strategy to link private recycling investment to planned industrial growth.

Overview

  • Haryana will provide land and construction debris for the Manesar unit, while Honda will manufacture tiles from recycled material.
  • Officials said capacity, cost and timelines are yet to be finalised, and Honda has not commented on the agreement.
  • The deal was inked during a Gurugram meeting with Japanese firms where the CM pitched a dedicated Naraingarh cluster and noted progress on 10 IMTs with 6,000–7,000 acres registered.
  • A DPR is ready for a roughly ₹3,000 crore Munak Canal pipeline to supply Manesar, with tenders expected soon, and HSIIDC has a ₹78 crore plan for industrial wastewater reuse in the first phase.
  • Gurugram’s C&D waste far exceeds processing capacity (Basai ~300 TPD with 6 lakh MT stockpiled), and an expansion to 1,200 TPD plus additional plants has been approved as the CM prepares to visit Japan on Oct 6–8.
