Overview
- Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met Japanese company representatives in Gurugram and announced an MoU with Honda to set up a plant in IMT Manesar that will turn construction and demolition waste into tiles.
- The agreement provides that the state will supply land and waste material while Honda will manufacture tiles at the facility.
- The government has initiated 10 Industrial Model Townships with about 7,000 acres registered on the e-Bhoomi portal to support new manufacturing hubs.
- Naraingarh was proposed as a dedicated cluster for Japanese firms, with the CM citing its proximity to Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab.
- Saini is slated to visit Japan from October 6 to 8 to court further investment, and the state has earmarked roughly Rs 3,000 crore for a Munak canal pipeline to strengthen Manesar’s water supply.
