Haryana Raises Daughter’s Marriage Grant to ₹51,000 Under Vivaah Shagun Scheme

The state has rolled out its enhanced scheme structure to boost support for low-income families, with higher grants for backward communities, widows, athletes, divyang couples

Overview

  • The base kanyadan grant has been increased from ₹41,000 to ₹51,000 for daughters’ weddings under the Mukhyamantri Vivaah Shagun Yojana.
  • Scheduled Caste, Vimukta Jati and Tapriwas families will receive ₹71,000 per daughter’s marriage under the revised structure.
  • Widows, divorced or orphaned women are eligible for a ₹51,000 grant on remarriage if they did not previously benefit from the scheme.
  • Female sportspersons and couples with a differently-abled spouse also qualify for ₹51,000 assistance.
  • Households with annual incomes up to ₹1.8 lakh must register marriages within six months to claim the benefits.
