Haryana Logs Record 3,738 NDPS Cases, 6,801 Arrests in 2025

Officials credit fast-track courts, asset seizures, preventive detentions for disrupting drug networks.

Overview

  • Authorities registered 457 commercial-quantity cases in 2025, leading to 1,227 arrests, the highest annual tallies in six years.
  • Seizures last year included 55.84 kg of heroin, 18,039 kg of poppy straw, 6,257 kg of ganja, plus more than 6.59 lakh diverted pharmaceutical units.
  • Cross-border activity featured prominently, with 586 accused from outside Haryana including 33 foreign nationals such as 26 Nigerians, 6 Nepalis and one person from Senegal.
  • Properties worth Rs 13.59 crore were attached in 2025, contributing to Rs 67.01 crore seized, frozen or forfeited since 2007 under NDPS provisions.
  • Eight dedicated NDPS courts now operate in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Ambala, Hisar, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Panipat, with proposals filed to expand to Yamunanagar, Faridabad, Gurugram and Rohtak.
