Haryana Confirms Dates, PM Visit for 10th International Gita Mahotsav

MEA-supported programming with global broadcasts will extend the Kurukshetra festival's reach worldwide.

  • The 10th International Gita Mahotsav will run in Kurukshetra from November 15 to December 5, with the main slate scheduled for November 24 to December 1.
  • Haryana says Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend on November 25 for Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th martyrdom commemoration and to take part in the Mahotsav.
  • Madhya Pradesh has been named partner state and is building a cultural pavilion at Purushottam Pura Bagh near Brahma Sarovar.
  • A three-day International Gita Seminar at Kurukshetra University will feature 25 scholars from 16 countries, while the Ministry of External Affairs plans celebrations in 51 countries with live telecasts.
  • Programming includes visits by priests from Fiji and Trinidad and Tobago, a global Gita recitation by 18,000 students, a Gita Book Fair and cultural fairs, and a December 1 Deepotsav across 182 pilgrimage sites within the 48‑km Dharmakshetra.
