Haryana Clears Rs 2,100 Monthly Aid for Women, Rollout Set for Sept. 25

Backed by a Rs 5,000 crore allocation, the BJP government will use direct transfers with app-based enrollment, SMS outreach and public ward lists to identify and verify recipients.

Overview

  • The Cabinet approved the Deen Dayal Laado Laxmi Yojana, launching on Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary with monthly assistance of Rs 2,100.
  • All women aged 23 and above, married or unmarried, are eligible, subject to a 15-year Haryana domicile requirement for the woman or her husband if married.
  • The first phase is limited to families with annual income below Rs 1 lakh, with the government estimating about 19–20 lakh beneficiaries and no cap on eligible women per household.
  • Women already receiving higher payments under nine state social-security schemes are excluded, while patients with specified serious illnesses can receive this benefit in addition to existing pensions.
  • Payments will be made via DBT, with a dedicated mobile app to open within days, SMS notifications to potential beneficiaries, and panchayat and ward-level lists posted for transparency and objections.
