Overview
- Women aged 23 or older qualify, with a 15-year Haryana domicile required for the applicant or, if married, for her husband.
- Phase one limits eligibility to families earning under Rs 1 lakh, with 19–20 lakh beneficiaries expected and Rs 5,000 crore earmarked in the 2025–26 budget.
- There is no cap on beneficiaries per household, so every eligible woman in a family will receive the transfer.
- Recipients drawing higher benefits under nine state schemes are excluded, while those with stage 3 or 4 cancer, listed rare diseases, haemophilia, thalassemia or sickle cell may receive this allowance in addition to pensions.
- The rollout includes a gazette notification, a registration app, SMS alerts to potential beneficiaries, and publicly posted lists subject to local objections.
