Haryana BJP Leader Surendra Jawahra Fatally Shot Over Land Dispute

Surendra Jawahra, a BJP leader and president of the Mundlana Mandal in Sonipat, Haryana, was shot dead by his neighbor on Friday night during a land dispute.
The incident occurred at 9:30 PM on March 14, Holi night, and was captured on CCTV, showing the accused chasing and shooting Jawahra inside a shop.
Police identified the suspect as Monu, who allegedly fired multiple shots at Jawahra after a heated confrontation over land previously purchased by Jawahra from Monu's relatives.
Authorities arrested the accused on Saturday morning and are conducting further investigations into the long-standing property conflict that led to the killing.
The tragic event highlights escalating tensions over land disputes in the region, with another political leader in neighboring Punjab recently killed under similar circumstances.
