Overview

• A combine harvester caught fire near Loudéac on July 12, burning seven hectares of wheat before five forest-fire trucks and brigades from Loudéac, Plouguenast-Langast and Saint-Caradec brought it under control.
• At Ribécourt-la-Tour in Hauts-de-France, a blaze destroyed four to five hectares of cereal crop around 2:30 p.m., with firefighters and neighbouring farmers extinguishing the flames.
• In Finistère, gendarmes reported a fire near Scrignac that consumed four to five hectares of cereals and an evacuation at Telgruc-sur-Mer to protect a hamlet housing an infant and a person with reduced mobility.
• By late evening, the fires at Loudéac, Ribécourt-la-Tour and Scrignac were largely contained with hotspots still monitored and evacuees housed elsewhere.
• A still-active blaze at Bodéo near Quintin required eight firefighting units, a field command post and continued support from local farmers into the evening.
