Harvard University Faces Civil Rights Complaint from Pro-Palestinian Students

Students allege university's failure to protect them from harassment and intimidation due to their Palestinian and Muslim backgrounds and support for Palestinian rights.

Over a dozen students from Harvard University have filed a civil rights complaint with the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, alleging that the university has failed to protect its pro-Palestinian students from harassment, intimidation, and threats.
The students, represented by the Muslim Legal Fund of America, claim to have been targeted due to their Palestinian and Muslim backgrounds, and for openly supporting Palestinian rights.
The complaint reveals instances of doxxing, stalking, and assault, directed specifically at those who identify as Palestinian, Muslim, or supporters of Palestinian rights.
While Harvard University has refrained from commenting directly on the complaint, it has highlighted its efforts to support its students, pointing to the recent establishment of a Presidential Taskforce on Combating Islamophobia and Anti-Arab Bias.
The complaint occurs against a backdrop of recent concerns regarding safety and support from Jewish and pro-Israel communities, both at Harvard and other universities.
