Overview

• Hartselle obtained a murder warrant for Archie Hale, 40, in the Sept. 6 crash that killed 17-year-old Tristan Hollis and injured several others, with no bond on the murder count.
• Hale remains hospitalized for serious injuries, and officers say they will assume custody when he is discharged.
• Police say reviewed videos show Hale entered the U.S. 31 and Highway 36 intersection at a very high speed while the light was red.
• Priceville Officer Garry Chapman, who initiated the pursuit, is on administrative leave pending internal and outside reviews and was named in an Aug. 29 wrongful-death lawsuit in an unrelated case.
