Hartford Two-Alarm Apartment Fire Displaces 15, Kills Dog

The Fire Marshal is investigating a blaze that spread from rear porches into upper levels.

  • Crews reported heavy fire on rear porches with extension to the second and third floors as well as the cockloft.
  • A second alarm brought additional resources, primary and secondary searches were completed, and the fire was brought under control.
  • No human injuries were reported, but one dog was found dead and fifteen residents were displaced, including six adults and nine children.
  • Hartford’s Special Services Unit and the American Red Cross are assisting the displaced families, and officials say the home is uninhabitable.
