• Huawei executive Yu Chengdong announced the HarmonyOS 5 installed base has surpassed 20 million devices in a Sept. 29 video message.
• A ‘HarmonyOS Gift Special Edition’ promotion begins Sept. 30 for Huawei phone users who sign in with a Huawei account, activate Huawei Pay with a bound card, and update the Today app to 15.0.15.330 or later and the system to 5.0.0.135 or later.
• Huawei says the promotion will provide dining and entertainment perks, and some users can already see the event page on the negative‑one screen, but specific benefits have not been published.
• At the Sept. 20 Full Connect conference, Huawei reported 17 million HarmonyOS 5 devices and more than 1,300 compatible open‑source hardware and software products.
