Hannover's New Year’s Eve Run Breaks Participation Record with Over 3,600 Runners

The 21st annual Maschsee event featured record turnout, colorful costumes, and standout performances by local athletes.

The 21st New Year’s Eve Run around Hannover's Maschsee attracted 3,625 participants, setting a new attendance record for the event.
Marie Pröpsting and Till Krajenski claimed victory in the main race, completing the nearly 6-kilometer course in 20:28 and 17:55 minutes, respectively.
This year’s event included a significant increase in child participants, with distances of 600 and 1,200 meters offered for younger runners.
The run, rebranded as the 'Hannoverkind Silvesterlauf,' partnered with the children’s aid organization Hannoverkind for the first time.
Many runners embraced the festive spirit by wearing colorful costumes, adding a celebratory flair to the largest New Year’s Eve run in Lower Saxony.
