Hannah Mills to Lead British Team in Historic Inaugural Women's America's Cup

Olympic champion Hannah Mills aims to inspire a new generation of female sailors as she takes the helm for Britain in the first-ever Women's America's Cup.

Hannah Mills, the most-decorated female sailor in Olympic history, will lead the British team in the inaugural Puig Women’s America’s Cup in Barcelona this October.
Mills and her former partner Saskia Clark, with whom she won Olympic gold, aim to win the first women's America's Cup and inspire future generations of female sailors.
The selection of the 12-member team, chosen from over 300 applicants, marks a significant milestone for inclusivity and excellence in competitive sailing.
Mills and Sir Ben Ainslie launched the Athena Pathway in 2022 to fast-track development in high-performance sailing and increase diversity in the sport and the UK marine industry.
The Women’s America’s Cup will be contested using AC40 foiling monohulls, capable of reaching speeds up to 100 km/h, alongside the Youth America’s Cup and the 37th America’s Cup.
