Danish referee Jesper Madsen collapsed on the court during a Champions League match between KC Veszprem and Sporting Lisbon on Thursday evening.
Madsen was treated on-site and transported to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition and is expected to fully recover.
The European Handball Federation confirmed that extensive medical tests showed no signs of serious health issues.
The match was completed by Madsen's colleague, Mads Hansen, who officiated alone after the incident and received praise for his composure under difficult circumstances.
Veszprem's coach, Xavier Pascual, expressed shock over the incident and commended Hansen for his professionalism in continuing the game, which ended in a narrow 33-32 victory for Veszprem.
