Handball-Bundesliga Confirms Goal-Line Technology for Next Season

Goal-line technology will be introduced in the Handball-Bundesliga starting with the 2025-2026 season, confirmed by league chief Frank Bohmann.
The decision comes after a controversial non-awarded goal in a December 2024 match between SC Magdeburg and Füchse Berlin highlighted limitations in current video review systems.
The technology has previously been used in DHB-Pokal Final-4 tournaments but will now debut in regular league play.
Current video review systems in the league lack cameras positioned on the goal line, making them insufficient for resolving goal-line disputes.
The estimated cost for implementing the technology is 500,000 euros, though specific funding details have not been disclosed.
