Overview

• The incident occurred on 7 July around 18:23 in the Quarree shopping centre, where a 21-year-old was pushed into a toilet cubicle and threatened with a knife for his phone.
• Bystanders intervened after the victim resisted, the attacker fled without taking anything, and the victim sustained a minor cut to his ear.
• The Hamburg district court authorized the release of CCTV images at the prosecutor’s request to support the search.
• Police describe the man as about 25 years old, roughly 170 cm tall, slim, with a beard, wearing a black Under Armour jacket with white accents, black trousers and shoes, and a black baseball cap.
