• On July 17 the Hamburg Regional Court withdrew 14-year-old Klara’s Nebenkläger status after its removal of her brother’s participation role.
• The judge paused the trial until July 25 to address defense requests for access to parallel case files and to clarify the children’s legal representation.
• Christina Block and six co-defendants, including partner Gerhard Delling, face charges of aggravated child abduction, unlawful confinement and dangerous bodily harm.
• Defense teams argued that the father’s selection of the children’s lawyers posed a conflict in light of his own investigation for alleged unlawful retention of the minors.
• Block’s substantive testimony is still pending and, if convicted, she and her co-defendants could face up to ten years in prison.
