Hamas Massacre Survivor Yuval Raphael to Represent Israel at Eurovision

The 24-year-old, who endured a harrowing attack at the Supernova Festival in 2023, will perform on the global stage in Basel this May.

Yuval Raphael, a survivor of the 2023 Hamas attack at the Supernova Festival, will represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2025.
Raphael survived the attack by hiding under a pile of bodies for hours, an experience she has shared in testimonies, including before the UN Human Rights Council.
The attack claimed the lives of 370 festivalgoers and saw 44 others taken hostage; Raphael was one of only 11 survivors from her shelter.
Raphael's performance in the Israeli selection competition, featuring a ballad version of ABBA's 'Dancing Queen,' was dedicated to the victims of the attack.
Her participation in Eurovision is expected to draw protests, continuing a trend of opposition to Israel's involvement in the contest due to the ongoing Gaza conflict.
