Overview

• Two Halifax officers stopped an erratically driven car on Main Avenue around 7 p.m., and as it accelerated toward one officer, the other fired two shots into the passenger side.
• The vehicle fled the scene and the officer who fired was not injured.
• Police later detained four people at Joseph Howe Drive and Dutch Village Road but released them after determining they were not involved.
• Around 1 a.m., investigators found the vehicle at a Halifax residence and arrested a man and a woman who had not been struck by gunfire.
• RCMP are processing the scene and the Serious Incident Response Team is leading the independent investigation, with police asking the public to share tips with RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
