Overview
- HAL signed a technology-transfer agreement with ISRO, IN-SPACe and NSIL that provides full design-to-operations documentation, training and support under a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence.
- The transfer includes a 24-month handholding period with ISRO, covering two SSLV missions to help HAL acquire complete production and launch competencies.
- After absorption, HAL will mass-produce, market and operate SSLV launches for domestic and international customers during a planned ten-year production phase.
- India Today reports the first HAL-built SSLV is expected in 2027 following completion of the technology absorption process.
