Pietsch to Serve as Chairman, Hachette Book Group and Hachette UK to Align More Closely Under Shelley

Michael Pietsch, CEO of Hachette Book Group, is retiring and will be succeeded by Hachette UK CEO David Shelley starting January 1.
Pietsch will serve as chairman of Hachette Book Group after stepping down as CEO.
Richard Kitson, deputy CEO of Hachette UK, will also take on the same role for Hachette Book Group.
Pietsch presided over an era of expansion for Hachette, including the acquisition of companies such as Workman Publishing and Hyperion Books.
Under Shelley, Hachette Book Group and Hachette UK will become more closely aligned.
