Haas F1 Team Files 'Right of Review' Over U.S. Grand Prix Result Amid Track Limit Infringement Concerns
FIA to Reevaluate Track Limit Infringements at U.S. Grand Prix Following Haas Request, Amid Disqualification of Hamilton and Leclerc and Unexpected Points for Williams' Drivers
- The Haas F1 team has submitted a 'right of review' request concerning the U.S. Grand Prix results, reportedly prompted by concerns over track limit infringement at Turn Six of the Circuit of the Americas.
- Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, Haas's team drivers, were ranked 11th and 14th respectively in the disputed U.S. Grand Prix that took place on October 22.
- The FIA will reconvene the U.S. Grand Prix stewards to decide on granting Haas the review, in line with sporting codes that allow a right of review when new, significant and relevant elements are discovered that weren't available at the time of the initial decision.
- Despite allegations of track limit infringements by Williams' driver Alexander Albon, the stewards didn't penalize him due to insufficient video evidence whilst Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc were disqualified from second and sixth place respectively in Austin following their unsuccessful technical checks.
- These disqualifications resulted in unexpected points for Albon and his team mate Logan Sargeant, nudging them up to ninth and tenth place respectively, whilst Haas subsequently dropped to the bottom of the constructors' standings after the next race in Mexico.
