H2Med Alliance Adds 40 Companies as EU Backs Southwestern Hydrogen Corridor

CEF-funded studies signal a move from setup to coordinated delivery starting in 2026.

  • Promoters target construction from 2026 and initial operations from 2030, with CelZa spanning 248 km at up to 0.75 Mtpa and the 455‑km BarMar subsea link designed for up to 2 Mtpa.
  • Officials highlighted energy security and REPowerEU goals, while Enagás’ CEO said the corridor aims to supply about 10% of Europe’s hydrogen demand by 2030.
