H-E-B, Butt Family Pledge $5 Million to Texas Hill Country Flood Recovery

The funds will flow through community foundations to underpin long-term rebuilding efforts in flood-stricken Hill Country towns.

Overview

  • On July 9 the partners committed $5 million to aid flood recovery, allocating $2 million to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.
  • H-E-B expanded on-site operations with mobile kitchens, distributed cleaning supplies and gift cards, and made direct contributions to the American Red Cross, TEXSAR and the Salvation Army.
  • The grocery chain launched check-stand donation campaigns in stores and online, enlisting Favor Delivery to facilitate customer giving.
  • It introduced counseling and financial assistance programs for employees affected by the flooding and vowed sustained support throughout the rebuilding phase.
  • James Avery Artisan Jewelry sold out its “Deep in the Heart of Texas” charm, reopened its Hill Country manufacturing facility and pledged to donate proceeds from future charm sales.
