GWM Adds AWD Hybrid and Lower-Priced PHEV to Haval H6 in Australia

GWM broadens the H6 lineup to steer buyers toward electrified drivetrains.

Overview

  • New variants confirmed are the Ultra Hybrid AWD at $47,490 drive-away and the front-drive Lux PHEV at $44,990 drive-away.
  • Both versions are scheduled to reach Australian showrooms in mid-September.
  • The Ultra Hybrid AWD employs 80kW front and 150kW rear electric motors for a claimed 268kW combined output, well up on the 179kW FWD hybrid.
  • H6 PHEVs use a 19.09kWh LFP battery with an NEDC-rated electric range of about 100–106km, and GWM claims 0–100km/h in 4.8 seconds for the AWD PHEV with launch control.
  • The Lux PHEV keeps the same plug-in system as the Ultra PHEV but drops features such as a panoramic sunroof, leather-accented trim, heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display, front parking sensors and the nine-speaker audio to cut $3000 from the price.
