Overview
- Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia personally flagged off the inaugural run at Gwalior station on June 26 with virtual participation from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
- The weekly express will depart Gwalior every Friday at 3 PM, arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 7:35 AM on Sunday, depart Bengaluru at 3:50 PM on Sunday and return to Gwalior by 10:25 AM on Tuesday.
- The 22-coach train features sleeper, AC general and economy class accommodations and halts at key junctions including Shivpuri, Guna, Bhopal, Nagpur and Dharmavaram.
- Regular operations will begin from Bengaluru on June 29 and from Gwalior on July 4, opening direct connectivity to Bengaluru’s tech hub for residents of Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna and Ashoknagar districts.
- Railway Minister Vaishnaw noted that MP’s rail allocation has surged from Rs 600 crore to Rs 14,747 crore and highlighted approvals for major projects such as the Rs 18,036 crore Manmad–Indore line.
